Believe it or not, the simple act of a deep breath – when done properly – provides an instant tension release within your body and allows you to achieve the fluid and effortless golf swing of the top tour players. Most golfers know there’s a calming benefit to breathing deeply, and many attempt to do so during stressful situations on the course. The problem is that almost nobody knows how to take a deep breath!

Most people have learned to breathe in a shallow and ineffective way, and can gain significant benefits from practicing what is called “diaphragmatic breathing”. Or just “breathing from your diaphragm”.

Can Emotional Freedom Techniques Lower Your Handicap?

In the mid 1990’s Stanford-trained engineer Gary Craig turned the psychology world on its head with the introduction of Emotional Freedom Techniques, or EFT.

EFT is a meridian-based therapy, similar to accupuncture or accupressure. You simply “tap” on a few “clearing points” on the face and body, while focusing on the negative emotion, in order to “clear” it. Sure, it sounds a bit unusual, but so are the results!

Your mind and body are in sync, your awareness of the environment you’re in is heightened, you flow through and with your surroundings effortlessly.
